Forest Schools at Lingfield Primary School
With four weeks to go until the end of our Forest School project, outside year 3 and 4 is undergoing a transformation. Through the fantastic facilitation of Mel, a forest schools teacher, and Andy, a woodcraftsman, the children have been working together to create an outside classroom for the whole school to benefit from. So far, a butterfly garden and strawberry patch has been created; the bug hotel rebuilt and planted up and a composting area made using hand woven willow screens. The piece de resistance, however, is the wooden tree house designed and constructed by the children and Andy – it’s amazing. More work to follow includes seating and a mud kitchen!
We need your help! We are looking to find a business or businesses that would be kind enough to sponsor the purchase of a tool shed, tools and handcrafted signage to finish off our new outside classroom; these last few items would really be the cherry on the top of a truly fantastic project.
