Pupil Leaders
Part of our school vision at Lingfield is to have high aspirations for our pupils in their futures. With this in mind, we provide a range of opportunities for children to practise key leadership skills alongside developing a greater sense of responsibility and trust, all of which will set them up well for the future.
For some of our pupil leadership positions, individuals are elected by their peers through a democratic process. Others require children to apply for posts through a written letter of application, giving a presentation or going through an interview process.
These positions are considered a privilege and our pupil leaders recognise the importance of reflecting our school values of Respect, Resilience and Relationships within their leadership role.
House Captains
Our Y6 House Captains have a leading role in the life of the school, from showing prospective parents around the school, supporting learning in younger year groups and promoting our Personal Best ethos around school and in assemblies.
School Council
Each class has a representative who forms our School Council. These children help to organise fundraising events, gather views on how to improve our school and are role models to the whole community.
Librarians
Y6 have a number of librarians who support the school library, ensuring that the environment is tidy, run the library at lunchtimes and support reading in classes around the school.
Buddy System
Classes plan learning activities across the school with a "buddy" class in the school.
House System
There are four houses at Lingfield Primary School: Oak, Yew, Beech and Ash.
The houses are named after local trees, all of which we have on the school site. The leaves of the four trees are incorporated into the school badge.
Each house has a dedicated colour and Y6 House Captains who lead their respective houses.
